J.G. WEISSER is considered a technologically leading global manufacturer of multifunctional precision lathes and turning centers. With approx. 400 employees, the company develops and produces high-quality machine tools at its site in St. Georgen (Black Forest) and supplies customized, process-optimized system solutions with a focus on technology integration and the goal of complete machining in one clamping.
With over 160 years of experience, J.G. WEISSER is today a synonym for cutting-edge technologies and is one of the world’s leading suppliers to major automotive manufacturers and their suppliers as well as other metalworking industries.
The focus of all activities is on the entire process and the development of complete turnkey systems according to customer-specific requirement profiles. Machine tools from J.G. WEISSER with integrated technology concepts are the answer to demands for more working speed, productivity and process reliability. Especially in the production of high quantities, shorter cycle times and the associated lower cost per part are a decisive competitive factor. The company offers a comprehensive and versatile machine portfolio and has extensive experience in solving demanding and complex manufacturing tasks, especially for chuck and shaft turned parts. In order to be able to accompany the worldwide expansion of its customers, J.G. WEISSER is expanding its international presence with its own subsidiaries for sales and service or representatives in all important markets.
| Bandfinishing Manufacturing technology: Bandfinishing
A machine combining turning and bandfinishing operations always comes into consideration when the workpiece surface to be manufactured must be free of lead and when the new WEISSER technology “Rotational turning” is not suited. As a general rule, well proven units by known builders are used.
Each WEISSER turning machine is suited for the combination of turning and bandfinishing operations! |
| Grinding Manufacturing technology: Grinding
A machine combining turning and grinding operations is always applied when grinding at individual workpiece diameters can not be abandoned.
The advantage of such a combined operation is the completion of a workpiece on one machine system and in only one clamping. Each WEISSER turning machine is suited for the combination of turning and grinding operations! |
| Milling / drilling Manufacturing technologies: Milling and drilling
In order to be able to manufacture complex workpieces in a machine system, drilling and milling operations have to be possible. For this purpose WEISSER integrates solid milling spindles with a HSK mount or drilling spindles up to a multiple spindle drilling head. Both techniques allow for a combination of dry turning and drilling respectively milling with a minimum quantity lubrication.
The working area of a WEISSER turning machine is laid out for dry machining!
The magnetic spindle technique developed by WEISSER is applied if, for a drilling operation, not only a diameter modification depending on the drilling depth should be reached but for example also the modification of the circle form to an oval shape. |
| Rotational turning Manufacturing technology: Rotational turning
With the new method “Rotational turning”, for which we have applied a patent, it is now possible to create surfaces being free of lead to meet highest demands. This unique technology with operations like external turning, internal turning, facing as well as hard and soft machining allows to produce in best time contact surfaces of rotary shaft lip type seals of any quality and in a guaranteed process. The rotational turning technology developed by J.G. WEISSER SÖHNE replaces time-consuming finishing operations like grinding, rumbling or bandfinishing.
