Carrier - Fluid Bed Dryers, Fluid Bed Coolers and Conventional Dryers
Carrier Vibrating Equipment manufactures and distributes custom-designed dryers and coolers for processing powder and bulk solids. Key products include fluid bed dryers, fluid bed coolers, conventional dryers, Tornesh dryers, flash dryers and media slurry dryers. The Carrier product line includes a variety of other vibrating equipment, including conveyors, feeders, and spiral elevators with features incorporated to screen, separate, dry, cool, blend, and perform various other processing functions.
Carrier offers a wide line of products, both vibrating and non-vibrating. A selection criterion includes production methods, product temperature sensitivity, drying or cooling characteristics, fragility, space requirements, available utilities and capital and operational costs. Markets served include chemicals, synthetics, foundry, glass, food, dairy, explosives, wood, coal, metals, scrap and recycling. FLUID BED DRYER
Carrier vibrating fluid bed dryer systems simultaneously conveys and processes a range of products without degradation. The system provides a continuous passage of air through product bed, maximizing surface area contact and resulting in a more efficient drying process with minimum retention. This one-step processing allows fragile and degradable materials to be classified or combined safely while drying, cooling, heating and mixing. Particles are mixed and turned to promote temperature uniformity and increase the speed of chemical reactions. Built to compensate for thermal expansion, systems are unaffected by hot supply air up to 1,200F. TORNESH DRYER
The Tornesh Dryer efficiently dries wet solids from food, dairy products, pharmaceuticals, grains, solid chemicals, minerals and ores. The unit can process material from one micron in size up to 1/2in agglomerates. Product passes through an acceleration chamber and expansion chamber before entering a dust collector. Partially dried product falls out of the upward gas stream in the expansion chamber and swirls along the outside surface until it becomes light enough to become entrained in the upward gas stream. DIRECT RECIRCULATED DRYER
Direct recirculated, gas-drying systems reduce gas discharge to atmosphere by as much as 90%, and reduce energy consumption by up to 50%. Fluidized bed techniques are most effectively utilized in applications for drying, cooling, calcining and sterilizing. Materials processed include synthetic resins, PVC, polyethylene, various chemicals, flour, sugar crystals, grains, sand, soybeans and corn germ. CONVENTIONAL FLUID BED DRYER
Conventional fluid beds are designed to dry and/or cool a variety of products without the aid of vibration. Fluid bed processing passes a gas directly through a bed of solid material via a perforated plate, nozzles, or other fluidizing media, thereby lifting and mixing the solids. At a certain gas velocity (the fluidization velocity), the bed will behave much like a boiling liquid. Fluid beds can be multi-functional, i.e. drying, cooling, classifying, sterilizing, etc, in a single unit. BATCH FLUID BED
In operations requiring the processing of material batches, batch fluid bed processors are particularly suitable. They are also suitable for applications requiring long retention times, where precise process control is required, or where validation is required, such as the pharmaceutical industry. Reverse turning beds and rotating dischargers are used to empty the unit. Mechanical vibration and rotary agitators can be used for difficult-to-fluidize materials.

| Recycling Equipment Carrier Vibrating Fluid Beds, Conveyors, and Feeders are used in a wide range of recycling applications including:
Metal scrap
C&D materials
Glass

| Sand and Aggregate Dryers/Coolers Carrier vibrating fluid beds have been used for decades in the aggregate industry because of their reliability and low operating costs. The dramatic rise in fuel costs in recent years has made fluid bed technology far less costly to operate than rotary dryers. |
| Vibrating Conveyors Carrier vibrating conveyors provide an efficient and economical method of conveying or processing bulk materials. Units can be multifunctional to convey, dry, cool, scalp, screen, quench, dewater, orient, accumulate, separate, distribute, etc. | |
