Jokamuovi Oy is a Finnish plastic company, specialized on manufacturing of protective gloves. Manufacturing capacity is 3000 pairs gloves a day. Gloves are manufactured with half-automatic machines. Gloves are made with cotton lining for example for industrial use. All working conditions, chemicals and oils are observed during the design process. The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health has tested all our products. Jokamuovi Oy has ISO-9001 quality standard. The quality of JokaSafe gloves is also internationally noticed, 43% of products are exported to EU, Russia, Norway and USA. Protective gloves are known as JokaSafe, which is a registered trademark.
It all started in 1960, when Mr. Esko Sulkakoski ja Mr. Matti Jokela decided to start the production of PVC –gloves. At first the brand name was SUJO, which was a short version of Sulkakoski & Jokela. The company is Jokamuovi Oy. Ever since the beginning it was clear for these men that when producing PVC-gloves, the price wasn´t the one that mattered, quality of the raw materials and the actual product was.
Esko and Matti also thought that gloves and mittens should reliably protect their users from hazardous chemicals and mechanical abrasion. Receipts of these raw materials became unbeatable as the years went by and knowhow got better. The granulation used today was invented also by these guys and it is still one of a kind when comparing into any other PVC glove.
When Finland became a part of the European Union in 1995, it also meant that regulations for Health & Safety products tightened. Each product sold inside the EU region had to be tested if producer wanted to sell products under personal safety equipment label. So we tested our products and got CE marking, earned a right to use the Third category marking and changed our brand name into JokaSafe for better recognition abroad also.
Joining the EU also meant that we were able to widen our markets towards Europe, USA and Russia. The Soviet Union had already been our exporting region during the seventies and eighties.
Today a half of the production is sold abroad and we have the third generation working in the company and making the History of Finnish glove production. Our company also got a Finnish Key flag -label as a sign of a product Made in Finland.
