The 26th Taiwanese-European conference centered on the EU and East Asia winds up in Warsaw today.
Entitled East Asia and the European Union in an Emerging Multipolar World the two-day event was run by the Institutes of International Relations at the University of Warsaw and National Chengchi University.
Topics on the agenda included The EU’s global role in East Asia, the United States’ policy on Asia and influence of Obama’s administration on global affairs.
Among acclaimed academics taking the platform was Professor Edward Haliżak, head of Warsaw University’s Institute of International Relations, who delivered a lecture on China’s rise and US-Chinese relations. Also present was National Security Council adviser Dr. Mignonne Chan, who spoke about human security in the emerging multi-polar world.
The conference attests to Poland’s and European Union’s growing interest in the affairs of East Asia
