Having purchased 25% of Primorsklesprom, Russia’s forester, for a reported 500 million yen, Lida Group Holdings is now planning to invest 10 billion yen into projects around the world. One of these projects will see Lida Group, originally from Japan, construct a wood processing plant in the Russian Far East.
2016 will see the start of the project which will involve the production of a wood processing plant as well as wooden houses in Vladivostok, Russia, with the lumber expected to be delivered to Japan. The Russian project is not the only one in the pipeline however as plans are set for the United States, Southeast Asia and China. A decrease in demand at home has been noted as the main reason for the expansion into a number of different projects abroad.
