In order to produce more phosphorus- and nitrogen-based fertilisers, OJSC PhosAgro-Cherepovets have been boosted by a new agreement signed with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). Thanks to the loan, the Russian company will now have a chance to acquire a new production facility that currently belongs to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Sojitz Corporation. With the facility, they plan to launch an ammonia production plant which will run alongside the Cherepovets plant they already control. In the future, Russia are expecting huge demand for the rebuilding of antiquated fertiliser and this loan will be the building block for more cooperation between Japanese and Russian companies in the years ahead.
