PSA Peugeot Citroen is intending to open a subsidiary, Peugeot Citroen Ukraine, with the purpose of strengthening its presence on the Ukrainian car market, according to a press release of the group.
The task of the new company will be to import vehicles and spares for both of the brands' dealer chains.
According to the press release, the company will start operating in the first half of 2010. The company will include a financial department, a spares and service department, which will be shared by the both brands, and two subdivisions (one for Peugeot and the other for Citroen).
The tasks of the subdivisions will be to create their own separate commercial and marketing strategies and develop their dealer chains.
The office of the new company, in a business centre near Moskovsky Avenue in Kyiv, will start working in January 2010. The company plans to start commercial activity in April 2010.
According to the group, in spite of the significant fall on the car market in 2009, PSA expects gradual growth starting from 2010.
PSA plans to increase its share of the Ukrainian car market to 7% by 2015.
