Poland stands as the top candle exporter within the European Union, according to Eurostat. In the previous year, Poland's candle exports reached an impressive EUR 922 million, representing 38% of the EU's total candle exports by value.
Leading the EU in candle exports, Poland surpasses the Netherlands, which exported candles worth EUR 246 million, and Germany with exports totaling EUR 205 million.
The EU experienced a notable increase in candle trade in 2022. Member states exported candles worth €2,457 million, marking a 27% rise from 2021's €1,938 million. Candle imports to the EU also surged, reaching €2,331 million in 2022, up 22% from the previous year.
While Poland excels in exporting, Germany emerges as a major candle importer within the EU, bringing in candles worth €609 million in 2022, which is 26% of the EU's total candle imports by value. The Netherlands and France follow, with imports valued at €313 million and €173 million, respectively.
