Known for producing laminated veneer lumber (LVL), the STEICO Group has now opened a second production line in their facility in Czarna Woda. With the line having been installed in record time, it’s thought construction actually finished nine weeks ahead of schedule which is impressive (to say the least!). With this now in place, regular production will start in the first six months of 2018 making use of the €45 million investment.
All things considered, production capacity for LVL will actually double to 160,000cbm per year. Considering the STEICO Group only started with their laminated veneer lumber line in 2016, this is impressive growth and demand continues to increase. In total, it took just seven months for the facility to decide on doubling capacity.
With the use of production residues and bark, the company believe most heat and steam can be generated within the two biomass power plants which allows for an efficient system all-round.
