Orbico Group, a prominent distributor of consumer goods in Europe, is set to inaugurate its largest logistics center equipped with a Mecalux storage solution, boasting a capacity for almost 50,000 pallets, in Donja Zdenčina, Croatia. Branko Roglic, the owner and President of Orbico Group, highlights that this new distribution hub will enhance the company's third-party logistics (3PL) offerings to both existing and prospective partners, setting a new standard for its operations across 20 countries. The facility will initially cover 40,200 square meters, with plans to expand by an additional 20,000 square meters shortly.
Piotr Sędziak, Orbico Group's Supply Chain Director, emphasized the strategic impact of the new distribution center (DC) on operational efficiency and productivity, thanks to the sophisticated storage system provided by Mecalux. The facility's conventional pallet racking is designed to handle a diverse range of stock-keeping units (SKUs), ensuring direct access to the pallets and streamlining order picking processes.
This strategic expansion is part of Orbico Group's ongoing efforts to enhance its supply chain capabilities, enabling the company to efficiently serve its 59,000 clients across 20 European countries. The new logistics center, strategically located near Zagreb, will cater to all of Orbico Group's Croatian clients, including major brands such as Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris, SC Johnson, Nestlé, and General Electric.
