Located near Minsk, Huawei Technologies has revealed plans for a new research and development centre near Minsk; in the Great Stone industrial park. Although full details of the move haven't been released just yet, the news comes as the company celebrates 14 years in Belarus after joining the market in 2003. Just four years later, they developed a new subsidiary now known for various science projects (teaming up with universities across Belarus).
Last year, the software exporting business in Belarus actually reached a milestone after hitting $1 billion in value. Established in 2012, The Great Stone Chinese and Belarusian Industrial Park covers 9,000 hectares and has been specially designated for businesses to receive tax exemptions on profit, land, and property; as long as the business is in the technology industry. Furthermore, the special economic zone also offers residential restate, entertainment, and retail facilities.
