Poland-based plastic components manufacturer Wezi-Tec has recently unveiled plans to invest at least €4m in expanding its plant in Legnica, Poland. The company is a subsidiary of Germany’s plastic parts moulder Weber.
Under the plan, Wezi-Tec will build a new production site and take on about 20 workers at its Legnica plant, according to the company. The facility is located in the Legnicka Special Economic Zone (LSSE).
Wezi-Tec manufactures plastic interior parts for the automotive and aviation industry, and a wide range of plastic components for the telecommunications and heating industry. The Polish business supplies its products to a number of major manufacturers, including Audi, Opel, BMW, Volkswagen, Porsche and Airbus.
Based in Dillenburg, Germany, Weber was established in 1949. The company set up its Polish subsidiary in mid-2003, and launched the Legnica plant a year later.
Wezi-Tec’s production facility has a total floorspace of about 10,000 square metres, and is fitted with KraussMaffei injection moulding machines ranging from 25 to 500 tonnes.
The Polish factory was expanded in late 2007, and currently has more than 330 employees. The Legnica-based facility is ISO 16949 and 9001 certified, according to Wezi-Tec.
In 2010, the German company reported revenues of some €85m, up 16.4% from €73m a year earlier, according to data from Weber.
