The machine and plant manufacturer IMA Schelling is expanding one of its four production sites worldwide. The reason for this: the ever-increasing demand from customers in the field of transport and handling technology. Additional jobs will be created in Ĺroda, Poland, and the hall capacity will be doubled. This significant investment underscores IMA's commitment to the Polish market and its customers here. With this expansion, IMA is responding to increased customer demand in Central Europe for products and services in the field of intralogistics – that is, material handling within factories and warehouses. The new hall will have an area of 5,000 square meters and will double the companies.
IMA Schelling, a leading supplier of transport and handling technology, is expanding its production facility in Ĺroda, Poland to meet the increasing global demand for automation solutions. The company has invested in new machinery and equipment to manufacture smaller machines of the Novimat series as well as additional transport and handling components. This expansion will create jobs and support the local economy. IMA Schelling looks forward to continuing its successful partnership with the University City of PoznaĹ.
The Polish location in Ĺroda previously comprised a production hall of around 8,000 square meters. In the course of the expansion, the existing area grows by almost 7,000 m² and thus almost doubles. A new office complex is also planned, which will offer space for social rooms, design offices and workplaces for service technicians. The new buildings are scheduled to go into operation as early as autumn 2022. The number of employees from the current 179 will be increased by around 40.
The investment volume of the IMA Schelling Group in Poland amounts to around 6 million euros and thus makes up a not inconsiderable part of the total investments of the group of 17 million euros. “The expansion is also to be understood as a clear commitment to our production site in Poland,” emphasizes Christoph Geiger.
