Swiss agribusiness Syngenta on Tuesday inaugurated a HUF 7.5 billion investment at its planting seed base in MezĹtúr (SE Hungary), doubling capacity there.
Tibor Czigány, managing director of Syngenta's Hungarian unit, said that the base - with its new capacity - could meet all demand for maize, sunflower and rapeseed planting seeds in Hungary.
The base employs about 150 people full-time and a further 300 seasonal laborers.
