On November 12th, 2008 SARIO agency participated by its presentation in project Visegrad for European Serbia organised by The Pontis Foundation and Serbian partner organizations. The aim of the project is to transfer the experience of the Visegrad countries with the European integration process to Serbia. The Pontis Foundation organizes eight roundtables for representatives of local governments and local communities about the various issues related to integration to the European Union. Mrs. Andrea Chovancová, the Head of Project Management Department at FDI Section, presented at the roundtable in Serbian town Uzice the topic of Regional economic integration and generating of FDI. Besides her, Mr. Bohdan WyĹźnikiewicz from the Gdansk Institute for Market Economics presented his views. The speakers shared with Serbian colleagues their experience from the economic transformation of Slovakia and Poland. They have discussed about possibilities of economic improvements in the Serbian regions, about importance of FDI from perspective of positive impact on GDP growth, on reducing unemployment rate in regions and increasing labour productivity. The event was attended by more than 60 Serbian participants coming from different sectors – local government, non-profit organisations and entrepreneurs.
