In August 2012, Dieffenbacher was commissioned by the Swedspan Group, part of IKEA, to supply a lightweight panel plant to Malacky, Slovakia. The scope of supply includes everything from the dryer to the packing line with a Dieffenbacher CPS 280 – 34.91 press. A particular feature of the plant is a 70-meter long forming station with multiple spreading heads, which makes it possible to manufacture a range of particle board products. Swedspan will primarily manufacture the special BOBOARD and COLIGHT lightweight panels. This is in line with IKEAS's consistent pursuit of its goal to use boards with the minimum density, material usage and emissions for its sustainable production of furniture. The new lightweight panel plant, with an annual capacity of 375,000 m³ lightweight panel, will replace an old multi-opening press. The first board is set to roll off the production line in first Quarter 2014.
