Raute is a worldwide technology and service company with its Head Office in Finland; its customers are companies operating in the wood products industry that are into manufacturing of veneer, plywood, LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) and sawn timber. The company’s technology covers all the production processes, and its full-service concept also includes technology services such as spare parts deliveries to regular maintenance of equipment and its modernizations.

The Raute Corporation recent press release, it has received orders that are worth over EUR 21 million for the delivery of machinery and equipment for the expansion of UPM Plywood’s mill in Chudovo, Russia. The Company is expected to deliver the main machinery and equipment for plywood manufacturing process, veneer peeling, drying, composing and patching lines. The deal will also include plywood lay-up, pressing and overlaying lines, machine vision and moisture analyzers.

It is expected that the deliveries of these order will take place during the autumn 2018 and the use of the new lines for production will start in 2019.  The Raute's Finland plant of Nastola and Kajaani will be manufacturing this new machinery and equipment.

It is Raute's strong expertise concerning the entire production process of plywood manufacturing, and especially its critical parts,  which have been seen over time in its scope of delivery that had influenced the current selection process for this new order.  The machinery and equipment that are ordered from Raute will constitute part of the Chudovo mill investment program, and through these supplies, the annual capacity of the mill is expected to increase up to 155,000 cubic meters.
