The ThyssenKrupp Components Technology recently inaugurated a HUF 33.5 billion automotive parts plant in Jászfényszaru, which is 72 km east of Budapest. This investment is projected to create about 500 jobs by 2019.
This project is being supported by the government with a grant of over HUF 10.5 billion. The Prime Minister Viktor Orbán who attended the ceremony confirmed the grant as reported by the national news agency MTI. The plant is designed to produce camshafts and steering systems.
ThyssenKrupp is building a springs and stabilizers plant in Debrecen (eastern Hungary), and large-scale production is expected to commence at this plant before the end of this year. The company also operates an automotive systems factory in GyĹr (western Hungary) and a software development competence center in Budapest.
ThyssenKrupp currently has over 1,100 workers in its payroll who are actively working in the automotive sector. ThyssenKrupp Presta Hungary reported revenue of over HUF 46.6 bln which was realized between October 1, 2016, and September 30, 2017. This indicated a 3% rise from the previous year.
