The UPM Chudovo plywood mill in Russia was established in 1990. Since its launch, the company has produced over 2 million m3 of plywood. The information gathered from the announcement reveals that over the last 27 years, the customers from the European and Russian markets have become the biggest buyers of the high-quality WISA birch plywood produced by UPM Chudovo.
In his comments, Anatoly Zhukovets, the UPM Chudovo General Director stated that “I am really proud to announce the achievement of two million cubic meters worth of production. It is an important milestone in the history of our production till date. The keys to success in this industry remain a continuous development and the use of modernised methods in our business practice. We were only able to achieve our first one million cubic meters of production in 18 years, and ten years after that, we have doubled the volume. This achievement has only been possible due to the long-term partnerships we have formed with our customers and the daily efforts of our employees.” In October 2017, UPM announced its plans to expand the operations of the Chudovo plywood mill through an investment if EUR 50 million.
