Cobra Beer, the India-themed lager brand that outsourced production to Poland, is to shift the bulk of its brewing back to the UK to save money due to soaring transportation costs and the strengthening of the Polish zloty against sterling and the euro. Adrian McKeon, chief executive of Cobra Beer, said the brewer expected to save about £3m a year immediately by forming a new brewing partnership with Camerons Brewery in Hartlepool as well as extending an existing relationship with Wells & Young's in Bedford.
