Koelnmesse, the organisers of the International Hardware Fair, have announced that the fair has been postponed until September 2022. The decision was made in light of the continued dynamic development of the pandemic and potential travel restrictions for important Asian overseas markets. Stay tuned for updates on this event!
The International Hardware Fair, one of the world's leading trade fairs for hardware and DIY products, has been postponed due to the pandemic. Koelnmesse, the organisers of the event, cite the continued dynamic development of COVID-19 as well as potential travel restrictions for important Asian overseas markets as reasons for postponement. The new dates for the event are from 25 to 28 September 2022.
This decision for the Hardware Trade Fair was made due to the pandemic of Covid-19 and the travel restrictions that have been put in place as a result. Koelnmesse is one of the largest trade fairs for hardware in the world and has a high status in the industry. Many Asian countries have now identified Germany and large parts of Europe as a high-risk region once again in view of the rising incidence of Covid-19, making travel from these countries to Europe difficult going into next year.
"Based on experiences from 2021 and the progress of the global vaccination campaign, the situation in September 2022 should appear completely different," say officials in Cologne. Companies are expected to have the opportunity to register for the September 2022 edition of the International Hardware Fair from January onwards. Koelnmesse has not yet announced what will happen with their exhibition halls or other facilities as they hope that by then it is once again appropriate for trade fairs-- this includes Germany's largest exhibition grounds and convention center.
