Panattoni has delivered a new build-to-own manufacturing facility for Compal Electronics in CzeladĹş in Poland’s Silesian region. The development marks a major milestone for the Taiwanese manufacturer, which is opening its first automotive electronics factory in Europe. Trial production is expected to begin before the end of 2025.
The newly completed 7,650 sqm high-tech plant is designed to support Compal’s expansion into the fast-growing European automotive sector. The facility will initially produce a range of automotive electronic components, with a focus on electronic control units. Over time, the site is expected to scale into more advanced product categories, including ADAS (advanced driver-assistance systems) and sensors used in autonomous driving, aligning with the transformation taking place across the mobility sector.
Compal’s investment sends a clear signal about Poland’s increasing importance as a production base for global technology brands. Taiwan remains a dominant force in the global electronics supply chain — responsible for around 60% of all chip production and over 90% of advanced semiconductor manufacturing. The country also supplies a significant share of components used in the automotive and EV industries. Establishing operations in Poland gives Compal a strategic foothold in Europe while supporting more resilient, regionalised supply chains.
The factory developed by Panattoni includes a modern production hall, warehouse space, R&D and testing zones, and fully equipped office areas. The facility is designed to meet demanding standards for high-tech manufacturing, including cleanroom requirements and the integration of automated production lines. Its location in the Silesian Voivodeship — one of Poland’s most industrialised regions with strong logistics links — adds further strategic value.
“We are proud to support Compal in establishing its first automotive electronics facility in Europe. This project reinforces Silesia as a top destination for high-tech investment and demonstrates Panattoni’s capability to deliver tailored infrastructure that supports global manufacturers in localizing production and strengthening supply chain resilience,” said Marek Dobrzycki, Partner at Panattoni.
