Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Compal has finished the first phase of construction at its new factory in CzeladĹş, southern Poland, marking a major step in the company’s entry into the European manufacturing landscape. This location is Compal’s first production facility in Europe, and trial operations are expected to begin before the end of 2025.
Once operational, the plant will produce electronic control units (ECUs) and sensors used in advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) — two of the fastest-growing segments in the automotive electronics market. The site will eventually host seven fully automated assembly lines, which Compal expects to have running by the end of the year.
Compal is among the world’s largest producers of electronic components, widely known for its role in manufacturing notebook components, consumer electronics, and automotive systems. According to Taiwan News, the company views the automotive sector as its most promising growth area in Europe as the region accelerates investment in electric vehicles, smart mobility, and safety technologies.
As part of its European expansion strategy, Compal also plans to build out business development teams and technical support units across multiple EU markets. This move is designed to strengthen its presence close to major automotive customers and adapt more quickly to regional supply-chain needs.
The new Polish facility represents a key milestone for the company and signals Taiwan’s growing influence in Europe’s high-tech and automotive electronics industries.
