C-TECH United Corporation, a leading Taiwanese producer of lithium-ion and lithium-polymer battery modules, has officially launched its first European representative office in Prague. The company plans to begin manufacturing in Czechia next year and is also considering building a European research and development centre in the country. The expansion has been supported by CzechInvest, which played a key role in attracting the company to the Czech Republic.
C-TECH has spent nearly three decades developing and supplying advanced battery modules and complete battery systems. As a Tier-1 supplier, the company provides fully integrated battery packs equipped with cells, management electronics, safety systems and interfaces for direct integration into end-products. Its customers include some of the world’s largest technology brands such as LG, HP, Dell and Acer.
The company’s portfolio includes solutions for e-mobility, backup power systems (BPS), industrial applications, IT/3C devices, and energy storage systems.
According to Van Fan, General Manager of C-TECH Czech:
“By the end of next year, we plan to start producing battery systems for electromobility and industrial energy storage for the entire European market. We are adjusting our strategy to meet the needs of key EU clients and want to deliver service and technical support directly from Czechia.”
Strengthening Czech–Taiwan Cooperation
CzechInvest’s CEO Jan Michal emphasised that C-TECH’s arrival reflects growing confidence among Asian technology companies in the Czech innovation environment.
“C-TECH will strengthen the Czech battery ecosystem and deepen economic cooperation between Czechia and Taiwan,” Michal said.
The Czech Republic was selected after an extensive comparison of investment conditions across Central Europe. Strategic location, strong support for electromobility, and the priorities outlined in the National Clean Mobility Action Plan were major deciding factors.
C-TECH highlighted Czechia’s excellent logistics and cost-performance ratio, enabling efficient access to key markets:
CzechInvest’s foreign office in Taiwan also played a decisive role in the company’s decision.
Next Steps: Production Sites and R&D Development
Representatives of C-TECH have already been introduced to several potential sites for production in the Ústí nad Labem and Karlovy Vary regions. CzechInvest will continue providing support as the company transitions from commercial representation to local manufacturing, and later to research and development activities.
Gabriela Bauerová, Head of Investment Development at CzechInvest, noted:
“This is the third Taiwanese company to enter the Czech market since our Taiwan office opened in 2024. We are ready to support C-TECH across all stages of its expansion.”
Taiwanese Investment Presence in Czechia
Taiwanese companies are among the most influential foreign investors in the Czech Republic. Major employers such as Foxconn, Wistron, Inventec, Asus and Pegatron have long operated in the country. Cooperation opportunities continue to grow, especially in:
Taiwan is also a critical player in the global technology economy: Taiwanese companies produce 90% of the world’s AI servers, while TSMC manufactures more than 50% of all chips globally and over 90% of the most advanced processors.
C-TECH’s decision to anchor its European operations in Prague further strengthens Czechia’s position as a rising hub for battery technology, clean mobility and high-tech investment.
