German electronics manufacturer Limoss is planning to build a new production facility in Ineu, Arad County, according to reporting by Profit.ro. The project is structured as a greenfield investment and could ultimately create up to 500 jobs, providing a major economic boost to a town that recently lost its main employer, automotive parts producer Aptiv.
Ineu’s mayor, CÄlin Abrudan, confirmed that the city has been notified of the investment intentions. “Limoss sent us the information and we are preparing to put the land up for auction,” he said. The company’s proposal outlines a long-term vision of employing around 500 people once the facility reaches full scale.
Limoss, part of the PentaComb Group, already has production operations in Arad County and is looking to expand its European footprint. The group previously expressed interest in acquiring a 15,000 m² plot in a former military unit as part of its broader development strategy.
Early planning documents indicate a phased approach:
-
Phase 1: A production hall of 3,000 m², around 25 employees, and an initial investment of €1.5 million.
-
Phase 2: Gradual expansion to 12,000 m² and approximately 100 employees, with the potential to scale even further toward the projected 500 jobs.
Limoss has not yet released an official statement about the project, but local authorities expect more information once land procedures and approvals progress.
