Swiss-based, Hungarian-rooted MET Group has officially entered the Polish energy market through its new Warsaw subsidiary, MET Polska. Poland becomes the 21st country where the company has established a local operation as part of its wider international expansion strategy.
MET Polska will focus on delivering electricity and natural gas to end customers, including both large energy-intensive industries and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The subsidiary will also operate in electricity and gas origination and provide a broad range of renewable energy services. The company already holds all required Polish licenses and has signed its first customer contracts, which are set to begin in October.
MET Polska Targets Flexible, Modern Energy Solutions for Businesses
“We are very pleased that after months of preparation, we can launch full-scale operations in Poland,” said PaweĹ Wierzbicki, CEO of MET Polska. He emphasized that MET aims to offer competitive, flexible energy solutions that help companies develop efficient and future-ready energy strategies. As part of MET Group, Polish clients gain access to a partner known for reliability, experience and long-term commitment.
Supporting Poland’s Energy Transition and Decarbonization Goals
For Poland to meet its emissions reduction targets, both industrial decarbonization and a stable, diversified energy mix will be essential. MET Group already plays a prominent role in European energy diversification, particularly in natural gas.
The company operates one of Europe’s most geographically diversified LNG import portfolios, making natural gas and LNG key elements in supporting:
-
The transition from coal to gas
-
Supply security during periods of high energy demand
-
The integration and stability of weather-dependent renewable energy sources
MET Group: Integrated Energy Expertise Across Europe
MET Group is an integrated energy business operating across four core areas:
-
Energy trading and wholesale markets
-
Sales to end customers
-
Renewable power generation
-
Flexible asset management
Its expansion into Poland strengthens the country’s competitive energy landscape and supports broader European efforts to build secure, diversified and low-carbon energy systems.
