Project company Hunest Biorefinery expects to acquire the necessary permits in May or June for the planned construction a HUF 18 billion bioprocessing plant at the industrial park in the town of BalatonfĹązfĹ (central Hungary), Hunest Biorefinery CEO László Kovács told MTI on Tuesday.
Kovács said the 100% Hungarian-owned project company is currently looking for investors for the plant, which during the initial phase of operations would process 25,000 tons of wheat starch annually to produce lactic acid, calcium lactate and gypsum.
Kovács said the first phase of the brownfield investment would cost HUF 12 billion, noting that Hunest Biorefinery intends to finance 20%-30% of the cost of building the plant through the project company's own resources and the remaining 70%-80% through bank loans.
The Hunest Biorefinery CEO said that the plant could begin operations in the middle of 2013 under optimal conditions.
Hungarian chemical company Nitrokemia owns 50% of Hunest Biorefinery.
