The Swedish furniture retailer might open an accounting department in Poland
Almost a year ago, IKEA founder Ingvar Kamprad declared in talks with Economy Minister Waldemar Pawlak that his company planned to invest zĹ.6 billion over the next eight years in Poland.
It has been revealed that these investments will include more than just construction of shopping centers and manufacturing facilities.
"IKEA is considering launching a center in Poland which would provide accounting services for the whole group. The company is considering ĹódĹş, PoznaĹ and WrocĹaw. In the initial phase the center is to employ 200-300 people, rising to over 500," reports a source quoted by Puls Biznesu.
It was also added that the final decision over locating the center in Poland has not yet been made, as Poland is competing with two other countries. None of the interested parties wanted to comment on the news. Recently IKEA had considered suspending all of its investments in Poland.
