It seems that Škoda, a Czech car manufacturer, is making significant strides towards establishing Czechia as an e-mobility hub. The company is investing heavily in electrification, with plans to launch several more battery electric vehicles (BEVs) by 2026 and increase the BEV share of deliveries in Europe to over 70% by 2030.
Škoda has also launched production of modular electric (MEB) battery systems at its Mladá Boleslav plant, with plans to expand capacity to 1,500 units a day. These battery systems will not only be used in Škoda vehicles but also in cars produced by Volkswagen, Audi, and SEAT.
The fact that Mladá Boleslav is the only European location outside Germany where battery systems for MEB vehicles are produced further highlights the potential for Czechia to become an e-mobility hub.
Additionally, Škoda's quick action in relocating part of its Ukrainian component production to Mladá Boleslav during the supply bottlenecks caused by the war in Ukraine demonstrates the company's resilience and ability to adapt to challenging conditions.
Overall, it seems that Škoda's investments and actions are positioning Czechia as a strong contender in the growing e-mobility industry.
