Hungarian packaging-materials company Tetra Pak plans to spend €3m (HUF 806,864) on developments this year, the business daily Világgazdaság said on Thursday, quoting head of Tetrapak's Hungarian subsidiary Zoltán Révész.
Tetrapak might also expand the company's plant in Budaörs, just outside Budapest, at a cost of €60 million - €70 million within the next few years.
Due to the financial crisis, no final decision has yet been taken on the expansion project, which would triple Tetrapak's current production capacity to 7 billion cartons per year. The investment would involve construction of a new production unit and a warehouse.
