Unilever has revealed its strategy to inject PLN 90 million (approximately $20.7 million) to augment its food production hub located in Poznan, Poland. The multinational company aims to amplify the production of ramen noodles, catering to the demand for brands like Knorr, Good Noodles, and Amino. The upgraded facility is projected to manufacture around 600,000 units daily.
This intensified production will not only satiate the Polish market but is also slated for distribution across various European nations including the Netherlands and Hungary. The initiative is part of Unilever’s commitment to meet the escalating demand in the European sector and strengthen its foothold in the continent's fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) market.
Adherence to stringent environmental norms will be pivotal, with optimized electricity and water consumption ensuring a streamlined and eco-efficient production lifecycle. The enhancement plan also involves the incorporation of state-of-the-art technologies, accentuating both physical and digital automation, the integration of renewable energy solutions, and a revamp of warehousing competencies at the Poznan locale.
Hanneke Faber, President of Nutrition at Unilever, emphasized, “The infusion of investment in Poznan is a significant stride to cater to the Polish and wider European market's evolving needs. It underscores the continual ascent of our Polish nutrition segment within Unilever’s diversified portfolio.”
PrzemysĹaw Fejfer, Factory Director at Unilever in Poznan, remarked, “The Poznan facility stands as one of Unilever’s monumental food production entities. Today, we pen down another milestone in our factory’s chronicle. The forthcoming investments will empower us to align more proficiently with consumer expectations and propel our business trajectory.”
This investment reiterates Unilever’s resolve to reinforce its market presence and operational efficiency, harmonizing advanced technology with sustainable practices to deliver high-quality products across diverse European markets.
