On Tuesday the European Commission officially published its 2009 and 2010 GDP forecasts for Poland. Poland, as the only European Union country, will avoid recession. Its anticipated economic growth in 2009 will be 1.2%.
The European Commission announced that Poland is the unquestionable leader of the European Union in terms of economic growth. EU experts emphasise that the current economic position of Poland is the result of strong economic foundations, which other countries of the Eastern and Central Europe lack. According to the European Commission’s forecasts, Poland’s GDP will rise by 1.8% in 2010 and 3.2% in 2011.
