EBRD and ENEF II Fuel Expansion of Serbia's Top Software Firm Vega IT, The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) together with the Enterprise Expansion Fund II (ENEF II) are extending a financial lifeline of EUR 3.1 million to Vega IT, a frontrunner in Serbia's software development scene. This investment is designed to spur Vega IT's growth ambitions and boost its standing on the international stage.
Serving over 200 clients worldwide, including renowned names like Costa Coffee, Howden, and Erste Bank, Vega IT's evolution from a modest local enterprise to a significant regional force highlights its capacity to make a substantial impact on Serbia's information and communication technology (ICT) landscape and to enrich the region's IT talent pool.
The funding will empower Vega IT to establish additional development centers in strategic locations such as the US, UK, and the Middle East, as well as to recruit technical and sales professionals to support its growing operations. This move will ensure Vega IT's continued delivery of superior IT solutions to its global clientele, further elevating its operational efficiency and governance framework.
The financing agreement was officially inked in Belgrade, Serbia, during the inauguration of the ENEF II investment fund, which targets high-growth small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-caps in the Western Balkans. This occasion marked ENEF II's third investment in the Western Balkans and its first foray into the Serbian market.
