Audi's Győr Facility Achieves Decade-High Production Milestone in 2023
In 2023, Audi Hungaria marked a significant production milestone, manufacturing close to 178,000 vehicles and over 1.66 million engines, a ten-year high for the company.
Located in Győr, western Hungary, Audi Hungaria and its subsidiary, Audi Hungaria Ahead, had a workforce of 12,143 people last year. The company announced a production increase to 177,775 vehicles in 2023, a rise from 171,134 in the previous year. Notably, the production of electric engines also increased to 114,058, up from 108,097 in 2022.
Alfons Dintner, the Chairman of the Board of Audi Hungaria, which celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, stated:
"2023 was not only a record-breaking year in terms of vehicle production but also for the manufacture of exclusive series body components and electric drives."
The breakdown of vehicle production included 94,283 Q3 models, 73,806 Q3 Sportbacks, 6,850 Audi TT Coupés, and 2,681 TT Roadsters. Among these, 24,579 were plug-in hybrid Q3 and Q3 Sportbacks, and 5,393 were mild hybrids.
The company highlighted its diverse capabilities beyond engine and vehicle production, offering competence-based procurement, IT, and financial services. Moreover, Audi Hungaria's technical development division, operational since 2001, expanded its scope in 2023 to include new competencies like developing combustion and electric drive modules for entire powertrain systems.
As of December 31, 2023, Audi Hungaria was the region's largest employer with 11,663 staff members. Including its subsidiary founded last year, the total workforce reached 12,143, as reported by the company.
