Poland is set to enhance its defense manufacturing capabilities with a substantial investment from Grupa Niewiadów, one of the country's leading private ammunition producers. The company is investing €57.5 million to construct a state-of-the-art factory in the Łódź province, dedicated to producing 155 mm NATO-standard artillery shells. With a planned production of 180,000 shells annually, the facility will bolster supplies for both the Polish Army and international markets.
Scheduled to begin operations within two years, the new plant will operate 24/7 across three shifts and employ 120 workers. In addition to manufacturing, the facility will feature an advanced research and development center, fostering collaboration with key international partners from India, Germany, Slovakia, and Sweden's renowned arms company, Bofors.
This strategic investment strengthens Poland's defense sector, as the country continues to focus on enhancing its military infrastructure and capabilities in light of growing global security concerns. By positioning itself as a significant supplier of NATO-compliant ammunition, Poland is not only supporting its own military readiness but also contributing to the broader defense needs of its international allies.
