Poland's industrial automation sector has experienced significant growth over the past decade, with robot installations increasing sharply for nine consecutive years. In 2022, the country installed 3,100 industrial robots, marking its second-highest annual total, following a peak of 3,500 units in 2021.
The metal and machinery industry notably contributed to this growth, with demand rising by 17% to 600 units in 2022. Conversely, the automotive sector saw a cyclical downturn, with installations decreasing by 37% to 500 units. The manufacturing industry faced challenges due to the conflict in neighboring Ukraine, which dampened overall industrial activity.
Looking ahead, Poland's commitment to digitalization and automation is set to receive substantial support. The European Union has allocated nearly €2 billion for Poland's digital transformation under the European Funds for Digital Development program for 2021-2027.
This funding aims to enhance the country's digital infrastructure, promoting further advancements in automation technologies.
These developments position Poland as a key player in the Central and Eastern European industrial automation landscape, with continued growth anticipated in the coming years.
