A leading Hong Kong-based electronics manufacturer has inaugurated its inaugural Polish production facility, leasing approximately 11,000 square meters in Prologis Park Wrocław V, located in Nowa Wieś Wrocławska within the Kąty Wrocławskie commune near Wrocław. This strategic move aims to enhance the company's European market presence and operational efficiency.
Facility Specifications
The new plant encompasses nearly 9,900 square meters of industrial space and an additional 1,000 square meters designated for office use. This setup is designed to support the manufacturing of high-quality electronic equipment tailored for the European market.
Strategic Location Advantages
Situated in Prologis Park Wrocław V, the facility benefits from proximity to major transport infrastructure, facilitating efficient distribution channels across Europe. This location is particularly advantageous for exports to Germany and other Western European countries, aligning with the company's expansion objectives.
Advisory and Support
The international advisory firm Cushman & Wakefield played a pivotal role in the site selection, lease negotiations, and development of the leasing strategy. Łukasz Osiewacz, Negotiator in the Warehouse and Industrial Space Department at Cushman & Wakefield, highlighted the region's appeal:
"This transaction underscores the enduring attractiveness of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship to international tenants targeting European markets. Wrocław's robust labor market and strategic location make it a prime choice for foreign investors."
Nearshoring Trend
The establishment of this factory exemplifies the growing trend of nearshoring, where companies relocate production closer to target consumer markets. This approach enhances supply chain security, reduces costs associated with long-distance transportation, and aligns with environmental sustainability goals by minimizing carbon footprints. Damian Kołata, Partner and Head of Industrial & Logistics/ECommerce CEE at Cushman & Wakefield, noted:
"Organizations adopting sustainable practices are better positioned to retain corporate clients and maintain positive consumer sentiment."
Prologis' Commitment
Prologis, the facility's provider, emphasizes delivering high-quality warehouse and production spaces. Marcin Kruszewski, Leasing and Customer Experience Manager at Prologis, expressed satisfaction with the collaboration:
"We are pleased that the company has chosen our facility for its first plant in Poland, reaffirming the superior quality of Prologis' offerings."
This development marks a significant milestone in the company's European expansion strategy, leveraging Poland's strategic location and resources to better serve the European market.
