The roots of Maschinenfabrik Niehoff trace back to the Drahtziehstein-Industrie J.M. Bauer, established in 1859, which produced, among other items, drawing machines for non-ferrous metal wires. In 1951, entrepreneur Walter Niehoff acquired this division, renaming it Maschinenfabrik Niehoff, and refocused on creating new machines for non-ferrous metal wire production.
Working collaboratively with leading companies in the wire and cable sector, Niehoff has pioneered numerous technologies, bringing them to commercial success. These innovations include integrating production processes, automating production steps, multiwire drawing, electronically controlled minimized-slip drawing of wire rod, managing cables, wires, and braids with the NPS handling system, and specialized Niehoff data and cable stranding technology. These advancements have set new trends in the wire and cable industry and have established new standards for production. Niehoff's manufacturing adheres to the DIN ISO 9001 and 14001 quality standards.
Today, Niehoff Group, with its headquarters in Schwabach near Nuremberg, Germany, employs nearly 700 people. It includes manufacturing branches in Brazil, the United States, the Czech Republic, India, and China, along with service centers in Japan, Singapore, Russia, and Dubai, ensuring a global presence. Recent strategic moves by Niehoff include building a new factory at its headquarters, expanding the Niehoff of India factory, and opening a new facility for Niehoff Machinery Changzhou Co. Ltd. in China, highlighting the company's commitment to future-oriented growth.
