thyssenkrupp Steel is one of the leading suppliers of high-grade flat steel and stands for innovations in steel and high-quality products for demanding applications. Steel has a good 26,000 employees and produces about 11 million tonnes of crude steel per year – making it Germany’s largest flat steel manufacturer. Its capabilities range from custom material solutions to material-related services.
| Blackplate Rasselstein also supplies uncoated blackplate. The uncoated product is normally intended for coating by our customers in a downstream process. Apart from metal layers such as zinc, nickel, copper or brass, it is possible to apply organic coatings, e.g., lacquer or plastics.
The product spectrum for the application of Rasselstein tinplate ranges from simple tea light wick holders to lamp housings through to automotive trim strips or cylinder head gaskets for motors.

| Tinplate Tinplate is a versatile, economically and ecologically beneficial material used chiefly in the packaging industry. In Germany alone, some 500,000 tons of tinplate are used every year.
Tinplate consists of cold-rolled sheet steel measuring up to 0.49 mm in thickness. It owes its name to an ultra-thin coating of tin which imparts a whitish gloss to the material. This coating is electrolytically applied and protects the material from corrosion. Today, the word "tinplate" is also used for the later developed alternative chromium-coated steel as well as for the organically coated material the term normally refers to.
Tinplate is used worldwide in the manufacture of cans for food, beverage and general line (chemical or technical) products.
