MICRODYN-NADIR, one of the world’s leading independent membrane and filter module producers, now introduces the new submerged BIO-CEL®-Module for Membrane Bio Reactors (MBR) as a cassette system.
MICRODYN-NADIR, one of the world’s leading independent membrane and filter module producers, now introduces the new submerged BIO-CEL®-Module for Membrane Bio Reactors (MBR) as a cassette system. This new design includes the membrane cassettes and the frame that holds them.
With this innovation the installation and the maintenance of the module is much easier. For the first time the aeration and the frame support are independent of the membrane unit. This is an important advantage, especially for larger plants, in that it makes exchanging portions of the membranes simple to perform.
The BIO-CEL® modules have been available since the end of 2005 and are rapidly being implemented worldwide. The unique advantage of the new MICRODYN-NADIR MBR-module is the continuation of a open plate system to avoid braiding and sludge deposition and it is possible to back flush the module, maintaining high throughput. The BIO-CEL ® module BC 400 will be displayed for the first time at the IFAT fair in Munich. This new flat sheet device which is a size unobtainable for all existing plate and frame systems enable MICRODYN-NADIR to deliver a new size of modules especially for larger systems.
The membrane area of this device is 400 m². With the packaging density comparable to hollow fiber modules, it is possible to incorporate large membrane surface areas into smaller footprints.
MICRODYN-NADIR, MANN+HUMMEL´s Water & Fluid Solutions division, offers innovative membrane technology for the treatment of water for everyday use at home and also for and from a variety of industrial processes or municpal use.
Membrane technology is future-oriented because it effectively cleans, fractionates or concentrates liquids, is product and environmentally friendly and uses energy efficiently. We develop and manufacture flat sheet and hollow fiber membranes for the efficient treatment and purification of water. The membranes effectively retain particulate material and bacteria and also convince through high productivity and excellent filtration performance. We offer our customers an extensive range of module sizes which are easy to install.
Our range of products and services include the preparation of rainwater, cooling and process water, the tertiary filtration of effluent from sewage treatment plants and pre-treatment for reverse osmosis. This is used, for example, in the desalination of seawater, production of industrial boiler feed water or filtration of drinking water.
| BIO-CEL Biological wastewater treatment with submerged membrane modules in the form of membrane bioreactors (MBR) is the process of the future.
This advanced membrane technology offers operational safety, high efficiency and cost effectiveness. MBR’s produce a high effluent quality which cannot be achieved with typical conventional systems.
The new BIO-CELmodule combines for the first time the advantages of submerged hollow fiber and flat modules.
This application of self-supporting membrane sheets allows the construction of modules with high packing density.
