In November 2013, our company was acquired by Kadant Inc., a NYSE-listed company.  While our personnel, location and products will remain unchanged, our new trade name is now Kadant Carmanah Design.  For legal purposes, we will be Kadant Canada Corporation dba Kadant Carmanah Design. We look forward to continuing to serve our customers with innovative solutions for equipment used in the production of panel and engineered wood products as well as in pulp, paper, and sawmill industries.

Carmanah Design and Manufacturing Inc., a privately owned company located in Vancouver, Canada, designs and manufactures leading edge equipment to optimize fibre utilization for the Engineered Wood, Pulpmill, and Sawmill industries. CARMANAH is the world leader in supplying Strand production equipment for the OSB industry, with over 140 machines operating in 7 countries.

In 1993 CARMANAH signed a license agreement with FUJI KOGYO of Japan for their Rotary Style Debarkers. This has resulted in CARMANAH being the principle supplier of this technology outside of Japan and Fuji's Asian markets. On display will be CARMANAH's 'Smart' Disc and Ring technologies which include the patented Disposable Knife systems for the production of Strands for structural panels. CARMANAH's SmartRING provides operators of Ring Flakers producing strands, the opportunity toreduce costs and increase yield by retrofitting their equipment with a proven 'SmartRING' upgrade.
