In a significant move to bolster small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Poland, the European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group) has partnered with Europejski Fundusz Leasingowy S.A. (EFL). This collaboration is marked by a groundbreaking revolving synthetic securitisation agreement, focusing on a leasing receivables portfolio valued at PLN 2 billion. This initiative is a testament to the enduring relationship between EFL, the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the European Investment Fund (EIF), and aims to stimulate entrepreneurship, job growth, and economic advancement in Poland.
As part of this strategic agreement, EFL commits to providing PLN 2.5 billion in financing to micro, small, and medium-sized businesses across Poland over the next three years. A notable portion of this funding, at least PLN 172 million, is earmarked for projects that prioritize climate action and environmental sustainability. This new influx of financing is set to benefit numerous entities, particularly in regions of Poland characterized by lower per capita income, highlighting the EIB Group's dedication to fostering balanced growth and enhancing social and territorial cohesion.
