French tire giant Michelin has announced plans to relocate dozens of positions from its UK operations to Romania and Poland as part of its ongoing European restructuring. According to MSN reports, several teams from the Service & Solutions division will move to the Shared Services Center in Bucharest by the end of 2024. Additionally, certain positions from Michelin's Stoke-on-Trent facility will be transferred to Poland.
In total, around 60 back-office roles will be shifted from the UK to Eastern Europe. Specifically, 22 roles will be transferred to Bucharest by the end of December 2024, while 39 additional positions are set to move to Poland by September 2025.
Alongside the back-office relocations, Michelin is also reorganizing its tire production operations across Europe. Some of the tire manufacturing currently handled at the Olsztyn plant in Poland will be transferred to the company's Zalău factory in Romania by the end of this year, further optimizing its production capabilities in the region.
This move underscores Michelin’s commitment to streamlining its operations and enhancing efficiency across its European network, while leveraging the talent and capabilities in Romania and Poland.
