Austria’s Palfinger Announces €70 Million Investment in New Plant in Slovenia

Austrian crane manufacturer Palfinger is set to invest €70 million ($74 million) in the construction of a cutting-edge production plant in Ormoz, northeastern Slovenia. The Slovenian economy ministry announced the development following the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Palfinger, the ministry, and the municipality of Ormoz on Wednesday.

Palfinger has maintained a strong presence in Slovenia for over 30 years, employing 900 people in its current Maribor facility. However, the existing location lacks the capacity to support further expansion. The Maribor plant’s primary activities include:

Production, painting, and pre-assembly of loading and forestry cranes.
Final assembly of marine and wind cranes for the marine sector.

The new Ormoz plant will enable Palfinger to significantly expand its operations and better meet growing global demand.
