Elematic, a world-leading manufacturer of precast concrete plants and production lines, launches a new fully-automated precast concrete wall production line, the Elematic EDGE. The new production line offers high factory capacity, top-rate precast product quality and reduced operating costs through state-of-the automation technologies, optimized production plan, carefully-designed production process and individually tailored solutions.
The new fully-automated Elematic EDGE wall line optimizes the whole precast wall production from building design all the way to the construction site. The line features advanced software, modern table circulation and state-of-the art production machinery, and its automated functions cover planning, monitoring and controlling the production process.
The new Elematic solution offers clear benefits: Production optimization and material management are straightforward as materials are directly synchronized with product design information and manufacturing execution system shows the number of products in process at all times. Line operations are monitored and controlled from one central location, with real-time production data continuously available for any possible process adjustment needs. The system also shows the location of the finished products so no time is wasted for needless tracking.
Best productivity and one responsible supplier
The new solution covers all parts of precast wall production line. In addition to the advanced, high tech systems and products such as automatic Comcaster and ELiPLAN, Elematic’s unique enterprise resource planning software for precast factories, the Elematic product range is now expanded with automatic shuttering station Elematic E9.
- The new station ensures fast and accurate shuttering process as it provides fully-automated control over various shuttering functions such as shuttering placement, demolding of side forms and table cleaning, oiling and plotting, describes Jarkko Salmensivu, Automation & Software Product Manager at Elematic. – The shuttering station utilizes Sommer robot technology. We want to offer our customers the most advanced precast wall production system on the market, with full support and expertise from an experienced partner who carries responsibility for the whole delivery.
The new Elematic EDGE Wall automation can be integrated with CAD and BIM software. Manufacturing details and deliveries can be tracked at the construction site by using an intuitive 3D view of the building.
The Elematic EDGE Wall is designed for the production of sandwich panels, cladding panels, solid panels and solid slabs.

ELiPLAN, unique enterprise resource planning specifically designed for precast factories, provides support for operative planning of precast production throughout the whole process: sales, material management, production, warehouse management, transportation planning and machinery maintenance. ELiPLAN works seamlessly together with factory manufacturing systems.
Manufacturing execution system helps optimizing the use of factory production capacity, monitoring the production status and controlling the operations from one centralized location. Automatic table nesting supports the creation of production plan through an intuitive user interface and optimizes the use of available table surface space.
Automatic shuttering station E9 enables fast and accurate shuttering process. The station functions also include demolding, cleaning, oiling and plotting.
Automatic Comcaster E9’s precisely controlled dosing makes it easy to cast a different height of layers as well as to secure smooth finishing of the components. Casting speed is up to 2 000 l/minute with self-compacting concrete. Casting is automatically operated to ensure high process efficiency. Comcaster E9’s accurate and fast casting process ensures high end-product quality. With one invention safety and productivity can be increased simultaneously at construction sites and precast hollow-core slab factory. Just before Christmas 2011, at Ylöjärvi test factory, Elematic introduced a new, safe method for hollow-core slab lifting, and the machine that installs the loops into the slabs. Invited builders, occupational safety managers, and precast manufacturers were thrilled of this novelty: loops that make lifting very safe and fast, and the machine (LoopMaster) that adds on value, and profitability to existing hollow-core slab production.
This new method is a co-creation of Finnish Elematic and its long term client in France, KP1. The need for the invention arose from the local builders and authorities: slab lifting at construction sites must be made safer! In this new method, all liftings at construction site are carried out with chains by hooking them to loops that have been installed underneath the prestressed strands into fresh concrete already at production.
Not only safety, but also productivity at construction site is increased since the time consumed on lifting a hollow-core slab is decreased. Other savings are achieved from all liftings at site being done with same equipment and method, i.e. less lifting equipment is needed.
New safety regulations set for unloading of hollow-core slab trucks are easier to fulfill when lifting loops are used in all slabs.
