As revealed by a recent quarterly report titled “The Furniture Sector” from the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), Poland has firmly established itself as a top furniture exporter globally. The country currently stands as the second-largest exporter worldwide and is unsurpassed in Europe.
PAIH's English-issued quarterly insights provide in-depth analyses of 15 key Polish economic sectors. Their latest findings indicate a 7% growth in Polish furniture exports as compared to 2021 data.
The agency’s analysis underscores the robustness of the Polish furniture sector, noting that the country boasts over 32,000 furniture businesses. These enterprises collectively provide employment to around 200,000 individuals. Remarkably, the export value of this sector almost doubled in ten years, climbing from USD 8.80 billion in 2012 to an impressive USD 15.35 billion in 2022.
The report suggests that production expenses in Poland remain more competitive than many Western European nations. Coupled with the advantages of the unified European market, this places Polish manufacturers in a prime position to tap into lucrative markets such as Germany and France.
Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 outbreak, Poland's furniture sector continues to be a formidable force in the global arena. 2022 saw the country achieve a record-breaking sales figure surpassing PLN 68 billion.
