Poland: ARP to receive US investment in renewables

APR, the state-owned Industrial Development Agency is to receive a large investment from General Electric to develop renewable energy sources.

A letter of intent has been signed between the two organisations and is set to increase Poland’s renewable energy generation by developing the country’s offshore wind farms and photovoltaic production.

The CEO of ARP was keen to stress the importance of offshore renewable energy both for the environment and for the country’s economy. Poland is already investing around €23.4billion (PLN 100billion) into offshore energy production and General Electric, with its experience of renewable energy production, specifically the Haliade-X offshore wind turbine is one of the giants in the industry.
