Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products, a prominent Chinese manufacturer of car components, is set to channel over €35 million ($38.1 million) into establishing a new facility in the vicinity of Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest city, as confirmed by city officials.
Positioned in the Trakia Economic Zone, this new venture aims to produce aluminium profiles tailored for the automotive sector. The Plovdiv municipality's business development division announced this Monday that the construction of the plant is expected to be finalized within the upcoming year.
Projected to generate 150 to 200 employment opportunities, this strategic move marks a significant expansion for Shanghai Unison Aluminium Products. The company, known for supplying key automotive players like Tesla, Volvo, and Fiat, operates subsidiaries in Mexico and Bulgaria to cater to its global clientele, as indicated on its official website.
