Ching Tai Electric Wire & Cable (CTi), a leading Taiwanese producer of advanced cable and interconnect technologies, has officially opened its first European production facility in Czechia. The investment, valued at CZK 120 million, is expected to strengthen the country’s high-tech manufacturing sector and enhance Europe’s supply chain for next-generation connectivity solutions.
The new plant is located in the P3 Logistic Park Prague D8 industrial zone in Klecany, just outside Prague. Supported from the outset by CzechInvest, the project reflects CTi’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe and meet rising demand for components used in artificial intelligence systems, autonomous vehicles, aerospace, healthcare, and industrial automation.
Following the expansion of its European operations, CTi Europe s.r.o. aims to become a major supplier for customers who prioritise technological reliability, high quality and short lead times. According to Sunny Lin, Vice President of CTi Europe:
“Czechia offers the ideal combination of a central European location, excellent infrastructure, and a strong industrial tradition. These advantages allow us to serve European customers efficiently while developing new innovations with local partners.”
Strengthening Czech–Taiwanese High-Tech Cooperation
CTi’s entry into Czechia builds on a growing wave of cooperation between Czech and Taiwanese companies in advanced electronics, microelectronics and IT. The new factory will help reinforce the Czech Republic’s position as a regional innovation hub for electrical engineering, precision manufacturing and intelligent systems.
The Klecany facility is designed as a fully digitised, data-driven production environment, focusing on high-precision manufacturing and energy efficiency. It will produce:
-
HDMI, USB, and DisplayPort cables
-
Ethernet and LAN connectivity solutions
-
High-performance interconnect systems for specialised applications
The plant will start with 50 new employees, with potential for further expansion as European demand grows.
Jan Michal, CEO of CzechInvest, emphasised the value of the new investment:
“CTi brings high added-value know-how and strengthens sectors where Czechia already has deep expertise. At the same time, it confirms the growing trust Taiwanese technology companies have in our industrial and innovation environment.”
A Growing Taiwanese Presence in Czechia
Taiwanese companies have become increasingly active in the Czech Republic, including major employers like Foxconn, Wistron, Inventec, Asus and Pegatron. Taiwan’s global technological strength—leading 90% of the world’s AI server market and home to TSMC, which manufactures over 50% of all chips and more than 90% of the world’s highest-performance processors—makes Taiwanese partnerships highly valuable for Central Europe.
Remus Li-Kuo Chen, head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Prague, highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration:
“Taiwan and Czechia share a strong industrial heritage and a commitment to innovation and sustainability. Projects like CTi Europe deepen our partnership and help build a more resilient supply chain between Taiwan and Europe.”
CzechInvest’s Role
CzechInvest provided comprehensive assistance to CTi, including:
-
Analytical data and comparisons across Central Europe
-
Site selection support
-

Gabriela Bauerová, Director of the Investment Development Department at CzechInvest, noted:
“This investment shows the growing interest of Taiwanese technology companies in establishing European bases in Czechia. CzechInvest plays a crucial role in strengthening investor confidence through targeted promotion of our innovation ecosystem.”
