Belgian Firm Trotec Launches New Investment in Poland’s Mazovia Region
Another major investor has joined the Polish Investment Zone, supported by the Warmia–Masuria Special Economic Zone. Trotec Poland, a subsidiary of the Belgian company Trotec, has announced a project that will strengthen the region’s economic appeal while delivering environmental benefits by keeping food products within the supply chain and reducing the carbon footprint of feed and food production.
A Circular Approach to Food and Feed Ingredients
The investment focuses on producing innovative, circular food and feed ingredients made from products originally intended for human consumption but unused for their primary purpose. By processing these plant-based surplus products and unsold food items from manufacturers and retailers, Trotec creates high-quality feed components — offering a sustainable alternative for the food industry and supporting the EU’s goal to cut food waste by 50 percent by 2030.
PLN 30.99 Million Investment in Sierakowo
The project, valued at PLN 30,987,500, will be carried out in Sierakowo (Przasnysz municipality, Mazovia) on a former industrial site. The plan includes modernising the existing infrastructure, expanding it with new facilities and purchasing production lines, machinery, equipment and transport vehicles.
Trotec is recognised as a pioneer in transforming unused food products into circular, high-quality animal feed ingredients. Its activities directly address sustainability challenges facing the food sector, reducing waste and the environmental burden associated with traditional feed production.
A Family Business With a Strong Legacy
Trotec – an acronym for Total Partnership, Revalorisation, Optimisation, Transparency, Ecology and Circularity – is a family-owned Belgian company with a long history. Founded in 1968 by Bruno Pauwelyn and Beatrix Christiaens, the company is now led by their daughters, Sigrid and Dorethé Pauwelyn.
